To illustrate one of the most unique Persian gardens, we should point to the Dowlatabad Garden of Yazd. In addition to being the name of a garden registered in the UNESCO Heritage, there is also a windcatcher in what is known as the tallest windcatcher in the world. The pavilion in the middle with a height of 1.5 meters is the world's tallest known one, built in late Afsharids by Mohammad Taqi Khan Bafaqi (known as the Great Khan).

Dowlatabad Garden Architecture

Dowlatabad's mansion and garden have various parts. The inner part includes the octagonal building, summer paradise, fountains and harbor, and the outer part contains the watch tower, caravanserai, tower and barn surrounding the mansion. The architecture of the Persian gardens has had low slope levels, which allow water to flow easily into the streams and gardens, and along these streams the garden trees are regularly arranged. But the most important feature of Persian gardens is the difference in the ecosystem inside the garden and its surrounding environment. Dowlatabad Garden is one of the most attractive Persian gardens because it was built in the heart of the Iranian desert, away from the river and fountains. Water Supply of Dowlatabad Garden

The interesting thing about Dowlatabad Garden is that they had dug a canal 3 kilometers long to bring water from Mehriz qanat, Persian Qanat, to the current location of the garden. At one time, there was so much water here that some would call it "water show." At present the water of the garden comes from a deep well, Persian Garden, yet its many ponds are full of water, and when we walk in, you feel freshness and vitality.

If we look at the garden at night, we can see the landscape of lanterns that have been illuminated and enhanced. Those who have gone to the garden, of course, say that during the day you should not miss the colored glasses in the mansion. During the day, we can sit in a corner of the mansion, immerse ourselves in the play of water and colorful lights and for a few moments forget about our jobs.
