In Iran, there are 23 sites which are inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage list. The old city of Yazd is registered as UNESCO World Heritage in late 2017, it has a long history. Yazd is a desert city with an arid climate and is built mostly of mud brick and adobe which is located along the Silk Road. Skilled architects of Yazd in old times had considered Yazd special weather conditions such as hot weather, limited rainfall and built some structures (chiefly out of adobe) like Qanat and Ab-Anbar for supplying drinking water and wind catcher (Badgir) for cooling inside the buildings. And it’s so interesting that they have noticed the structures to be both functional and also aesthetic. Yazd is also notable for its community of Zoroastrians, the dominant religion of the Persian Empire before the Arab conquest (in 642 AD).
Tabriz was selected as "The Capital of Islamic Tourism in 2018", by the organization of Islamic Cooperation in 2015. This city obtained the title duo to its tourism capacities and the main goal is introducing Iran especially the city of Tabriz and improving its tourism facilities.
